The impact of Destination Humboldt donor dollars

Since April of 2023, this community has generously responded to our pilot program  of utilizing philanthropy funds for physician recruitment and retention by donating more than $1.7 million toward Destination Humboldt. This has resulted in the successful recruitment of more than a dozen new providers  and played a key role in retaining several current providers through funding of needed equipment to expand services.

Early success of the Destination Humboldt initiative means that as many as 9,000 members of our community could be served by a primary care provider. This not only improves these individual patients’ health and well-being, but the far-reaching benefits are also felt by patients’ families, communities and the operations of our local health systems as well.
