New Leadership Energizes Providence Humboldt Foundations

St. Joseph Hospital Foundation and Redwood Memorial Foundation have welcomed dynamic new leadership, bringing fresh energy and strategic vision to support critical medical services in the region.

Chief Philanthropy Officer Tracye Williams, MBA

Tracye Williams has joined both foundations as chief philanthropy officer, bringing an impressive background in health care development and strategic business leadership. With more than two decades of experience in health care philanthropy, Tracye served in philanthropy leadership roles at major health systems including Adventist Health in Mendocino County, California, Advent Health in Florida and MedStar Health in Washington, DC.

Tracye has relocated to Humboldt County with her husband, their three children and the family’s two dogs.

“I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to serve both St. Joseph Hospital Foundation and Redwood Memorial Foundation in supporting health care access across Humboldt County,” Tracye says. “When rural communities invest in their health care institutions, they’re investing in their own future — and that’s work I’m honored to be part of.”

Redwood Memorial Foundation Board Chair Sarah Mora

Sarah Mora brings a powerful personal story to her role as Chair of Redwood Memorial Foundation. In 2020, the emergency department at Redwood Memorial Hospital saved her life, stabilizing her condition before transport to St. Joseph’s.

Sarah and her family own and operate Humboldt Grassfed Beef and have run multiple family businesses in the Eel River Valley for four generations.

“After my life-changing experience in Redwood Memorial’s emergency room, joining the Foundation board became a way to give back to the institution that saved my life,” Sarah says. “My experience as a patient has given me an intimate understanding of why we must ensure our hospital has the resources it needs to continue providing life-saving care to our community.”

St. Joseph Hospital Foundation Board Chair Stephanie Pierson

Stephanie Pierson knows that private funding is essential for rural health care, helping fill critical gaps in public funding to develop necessary infrastructure, medical services and community outreach programs.

A Pilates instructor and triathlete, Stephanie shares her passion for health and wellness through her involvement with Ingomar Club, Teen Challenge, Humboldt Sponsors, Jesuit Mothers’ Club and Women for Wellness.

“By supporting Providence St. Joseph Hospital, I can help foster innovation and research while enhancing patient care and expanding facilities,” Stephanie says. “My goal is to ensure our community has access to high- quality health care services regardless of the economic challenges faced by rural hospitals.”
